San Diego

Youth Mission Trip 2007

San Diego, California

The Youth group at PRBC went to San Diego, CA July 14-July 24. We split into three groups in order to lead four vacation Bible schools and a day camp. Two groups did a morning and evening VBS at Pacific View Baptist Church, Chinese Baptist Church, Meridian Baptist Church and Experiencing God. We did everything from bible study and songs to missions and crafts. The third group worked at Set Free Ministries hosting a day camp for children whose parents have completed re-hab but still need some assistance and guidance. During our free time we were able to visit the San Diego Zoo, La Jolla Beach and Mission Beach.

A Place for youth

Youth Connections

NO LIMITS, EXTREME, INTENSE, NO FEAR…t-shirts say all kinds of things. They know. So why would you want to fit church into your Sundays?  THINK BIG!  Think about a place where you can laugh with new friends, have a really intense discussion, and learn something about GOD! Now that’s BIG.

Why don’t you drop in this week and see what our YOUTH MINISTRY is all about. We’re youth, grades 7–12, who hang out together, play ball, shoot pool, and basically have fun together. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 to talk about important things and how the Bible can help us get through the week. We worship with the entire church at 11:00.

On Sunday nights we meet from 6:00–8:00 p.m. just for fun. We eat, play, and meet with our Youth Minister, Suzanne, and talk about God’s instructions for the next week. That part doesn’t last long…but it’s worth the time.  On Wednesday nights, we do the same thing at 6:45 p.m. Need a place to grab a bite…eat supper with us on Wed. at 6:00.

We like EXTREME STUFFsnow skiing in the winter, rafting in the summer. The MOST EXTREME thing we do is serve others. We volunteer at soup kitchens, work with underprivileged kids, work at the Leprosy Clinic, go on mission tour for a week to places like Florida, Washington, DC and other great places. We help out at a kids camp for a whole week. EXTREME…you bet!

It may take guts to show up and try something new.

But that’s half the fun, isn’t it?
