A Mindset of Abundance
"May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:17 - 19
A life rooted and grounded in love, filled with ALL the fullness of God, is hard to comprehend, but we have been gifted this incredible new life by grace through faith, full and abundant.
Does our life reflect this abundance? This world encourages a “scarcity mindset” that tells us there will never be enough: we must compete, one against another, because there is not enough to go around. A scarcity mindset names all the things we cannot do, all the things we cannot share. But a mind rooted in love and focused on the fullness of God trusts that the God who has given to us abundantly in the past will remain faithful in the future.
Stewardship begins with a recognition that all we have comes from God and belongs to God. We don’t give to the budget, or even give to God--we GIVE BACK to God what he has entrusted to us.
